It may be cold outside as we reach the beginning of January but I’ll take the cold over the snow!!  Sure, the white stuff is fun the first time it falls, but it’s been so nice  to not deal with the headaches we had at this time last year.

When you start wishing for snow just think about my uncle in Nebraska……..I think he would gladly trade us for the cold!!!

It’s kind of crazy to think about how little we use some of these anymore.  Below are 12 things that became obsolete this decade (and some reasons why).

• Calling People - (It’s all texts, tweets, and Facebook these days)
• Classified Ads in Newspapers - (Craigslist is free and easy online)
• Dial Up Internet - (Cable and DSL)
• Encyclopedias - (Online searches including Wikipedia)
• CD’s - (itunes, downloading single tracks instead of buying whole CD)
• Landlines - (Home phones are being phased out by cell phones)
• Film & Cameras - (Digital cameras are quick and can print pictures)
• Yellow Pages/Address Books - (Online Searches & storing info in cell phones)
• Catalogs - (More mail is sent to your inbox because it’s cheaper)
• Fax Machines - (More attachments can be sent through e-mail)
• Wires - (Wireless internet, wireless headphones, wireless charging)
• Hand Written Letters - (Most people e-mail to save time/money)

We all have those pictures from when we were kids.  Our parents stuck us on Santa’s lap and we were scared to death!!  Always funny to go back and laugh at the look on our face.  But did you ever stop to think about how creepy Santa looked?  Kimi turned me on to this website this morning www.sketchysantas.com!!!

Carrie Underwood’s hockey playing boyfriend Mike Fisher popped the question to the country superstar.  If Carrie’s left arm starts to look a little stronger it could be from carrying around this ring…………..

Another Halloween is here……which means another year of turning the lights off and watching the TV with the volume on low so no trick-or-treaters think I’m home!!

This year I went as Seattle’s beloved Brian Bosworth.  Here’s a few pics ranging from before the haircut to my night as “The Boz”.

While out running errands last week I popped in for a haircut.  After the lady finished I gave it a glance in the mirror, thanked her, and paid the bill. 

Feeling the hunger pains which most acquire while getting a trim I decided to walk down the strip mall to get a sandwich.  About four stores down I looked in the reflection of a window and much to my amazement I saw this…….

Are you kidding me?  Look at that chunk missing from my side-burn!!  I didn’t see it before I left….but you can’t tell me the lady didn’t catch that when it happened or even after the fact.

So a little embarrassed about my appearance I continued on and bought a sandwich, and much to the disgust of Luke Perry and Jason Priestley I returned home to find some clippers for immediate follicle correction.

Check these bad boys out!!  I dropped in to JOE’S for their going out of business clearance sale and walked away with these sweet new Seahawks shoes.

The conversation at the register went something like this:

Cashier - How you doing today?

Me - Good.

Cashier - Wow!!  I think in all the time I’ve worked here this is the first time that I’ve actually seen somebody buy a pair of these!!

Despite the combination of amazement and sarcasm from the cashier…….look for me at Hawks games in the fall…..I’ll be the guy rockin’ the sweet new kicks!!

The swine flu is at the center of attention this week.  The good news is that there is a new product for you who have had this thought go through your head…..”I can’t wear a mask, it won’t match anything that I have to wear”.

But now you can try to side-step the illness and look like a million bucks with these masks!

It appears you can choose between the words “OINK”, a skeleton, a pig snout, or the always popular Octomom lips!!!
